Must Do … Te Puia
Te Puia is the ideal activity to visit if short on time when visiting Rotorua. Te Puia is located at the southern end of Rotorua City. The National School for Maori Carving for wood, bone and stone and home to a weaving school. Te Puia has a range of activities as well as souvenirs available for purchase. Guided tours available as well as opportunity to watch workshops where local artists are creating amazing work with wood and stone. Prices from $52 per Adult.
Te Puia is open 7 Days a week but times do vary during Winter. If short on time when visiting Rotorua then we recommend booking in advance. Rotorua BnB on Sumner is 2 minutes away from Te Puia, ideal location for staying central to Rotorua’s best attractions

Must Do… Skyline Gondola, Luge & Skyswing
Skyline Rotorua is always a favourite with visitors to Rotorua. Fantastic panoramic views of Lake Rotorua, the North Island’s second largest lake. To get to the top take a ride on the Gondola which takes less than 10 minutes. Once at the top of the Skyline Gondola there is an array of activities to do.
Skyline Luge. Luge is a little cart you sit in and race down the side of the hill. Exhilerating way to get down, helmets provided!
Skyline Skyswing – Get dragged up by a cable and dropped in the swing. Even better views but not for those with a distaste for heights!

Must Do… Rainbow Springs
Rainbow Springs in Rotorua is the unofficial home of the Kiwi Bird. This Kiwi Sanctuary has had the most success in hatching Kiwi bird eggs than anywhere else in the world.
Natural forest setting provides a fantastic backdrop to experience and be educated on our amazing iconic bird. Rainbow Springs is located next to Skyline Rotorua. Entry to Rainbow Springs is a full day pass so you can come in and out as many times as you like in the same day. A quiet Cafe is located onsite as well as an adventure water ride called the Big Splash.
Rainbow Springs also has a wide collection of lizards and other native birds only found here in New Zealand. Rainbow Springs Rotorua has a range of prices for activities. Options include a free flight bird show, Kiwi encounter behind the scenes tours. Also recommend a close encounter with some of our amazing native lizards and reptiles.
Prices start from $40 for adults and Rainbow Springs is open 7 days. A must do is come back at night and get up close with the kiwis in the kiwi enclosure

Must Do… Mitai Cultural Show and Hangi Dinner
Rotorua is the Home of New Zealand Maori culture. Rotorua and Mitai have an amazing cultural experience that is on our list of Must Do’s when visiting Rotorua and New Zealand.
